Holiday Market Recap

And we’re back…

I ended up taking an extra week off than I originally planned to do some 2015 planning, some sewing, and generally taking it easy after the hectic holiday season.

So the Holiday Market is over. Thank you to everyone that made it a success. I couldn’t have done it without the support of Mary, Wes, the craft night gals (men are welcome too), our sponsors, and definitely my vendors.

Everyone who stopped by was amazing. Especially those of you that came out in the rain on Saturday. Man was that a downpour.

You can see more photos on Facebook and also if you scroll back through my Instagram. I took a ton of photos during the market.

This Weekend: Holiday Market at Seattle Coffee Gear

Red Circle Crafts' Holiday Market 2014

I can’t believe that this is here already. Tomorrow and Sunday is my Holiday Market that I’ve basically spent all of the past few months focused on to the exclusion of just about everything else.

Today, I will be prepping for the event: picking up tables, decorating, marking spaces for vendors, and handling all of the millions of last minute things I haven’t even thought of yet. You can follow along on Instagram and Twitter. I’ll be posting lots of photos of all of that. #RCCHolidayMarket to see it all.

I’m really looking forward to this, although it’s a little like letting your child go. It’s time.

Details:

Dec 20th & 21st
10am – 5pm

First 50 shoppers get swag bags filled with goodies. So come early to get those!

Swag Bag Creation

I’m really happy with how the swag bags turned out, but they basically took over my life for a few weeks. Here’s a quick snapshot of printing the 110 bags. (Swag Bag Graphic by Wes Boyd.)

I had some great help this weekend stuffing all of the bags with the goodies that vendors and local businesses have been sending me. You can see some of them on my Instagram feed.

These bags are going to the first 50 people both days at the Holiday Market this weekend. Doors open at 10. Get there early if you plan to get a bag!

December Craft Night – Dec 16th – Christmas Garlands

Make Christmas Garlands at Craft Night w/ Red Circle CraftsHappy First Day of December! That’s a thing, right? Craft Night, as you know, is the 3rd Tuesday of the month. This month that falls on December 16th. We’re at my favorite japanese tea house again this month and we’ll be making garlands. Or at least, I’ll be making garlands, and I’d love your help.

My Holiday Market is coming up surprisingly fast, and it would be a great help if you’d help me make the garlands to decorate the event. If you’d rather work on your own project, that’s fine! Crafting together is really the name of the game even if we’re all working on different things.

December Craft Night:

December 16th at 6pm
At Behind the Museum Cafe

Holiday Market Mailing List

Tent

I can’t believe how fast things are moving. Thanksgiving is this week and next week is December already. I may have mentioned that I’m running a holiday market on December 20th & 21st. I’d love for you to be there too.

So I’ve got a few ways you can keep up with what’s happening.

I’ve got a Facebook Event where I’ll be posting info about vendors and photos of all the awesome things I receive for the swag bags.

Also, I’m doing weekly emails with vendor spotlights and coupons good at the event. If you want to get on my mailing list, you can sign up here.

Holiday Market: Vendors Wanted

Holiday Market 2014 | Red Circle Crafts

You may have seen the tab at the top of the site that recently showed up: “Holiday Market“. If you click on it, you’ll find information about the upcoming Holiday Market. I’ll be talking a lot about it in the next month and half.

Today I want to reach out to all you crafty people in the Portland Metro. I’m looking for vendors. We have some confirmed already and the space is limited. But we have early bird pricing through November 18th. So you should get on that.

Check out the vendor page and download an application if you’re interested. I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have. Email or leave a comment!

Thanksgiving Glass Etching Class

Thanksgiving Glass Etching Class | Nov 8 | Red Circle Crafts

[Edit] Sadly this class has been canceled. Expect a glass etching tutorial in the future!

I know, it’s not even Halloween yet, why do you care about Thanksgiving already? But I’m teaching this really awesome class on glass etching at a Thanksgiving-themed Skillshare next month. I keep thinking it’s much further away than it actually is.

Details:

November 8th – 1pm – 3pm
Old Salt Marketplace (5027 NE 42nd Ave, Portland)

You can purchase tickets here. More information about the whole event here.

The class isn’t very much, and most of the proceeds are going towards being able to put on another free, all-day event like they did in July (remember the free screenprinting class I did?).

In this class you will make a stencil (either using your own brilliant idea or one of the templates I will provide) and use it to turn old glass jars and bottles into beautiful works of art. You can then take this idea home with you and use it to etch everything glass (drinking glasses, vases, pyrex, jelly jars, wine bottles, everything).
